About the Publication

Nordic Health Review is a small, independent editorial journal published in Helsinki. We write, slowly and carefully, about digital health, preventive care and the ordinary practice of wellbeing in Finland.

Our editorial voice

We prefer plain sentences to press releases. Our articles are researched by writers with backgrounds in public health, journalism and clinical practice, and are edited to be readable in one sitting, ideally at a kitchen table.

What we cover

Digital health, digital medical records, electronic prescriptions, preventive healthcare, healthy living, nutrition, mental wellbeing, family health, healthy ageing, healthcare technology, patient resources — and, among many other topics, Omakanta as it appears in everyday Finnish life.

What we are not

We are not a government publication. We are not a service portal. We are not affiliated with Omakanta, Kela, Kanta Services or any Finnish public authority. We do not sell products, and we do not carry advertising in the body of our articles.

The team

Aino Virtanen (Editor), Petteri Laakso (Deputy Editor), Sanni Koskinen (Contributor, Nutrition), Elina Rantanen (Contributor, Family & Ageing), and a small rotating circle of freelance writers and photographers based in Helsinki, Turku and Tampere.
